I want to ask if there is a possibility to set some temperature dependent (only continuous, no pulse) charge/discharge current according to the data sheet. As far as I know only two temperatures can be set where charge and discharge can be forbidden completely.
At the moment there is no way to do this. I have passed it on to our software engineer to attempt two releases from now, but it’s probably worth considering why the problem is there in the first place:
It’s probably worth considering that 0.5C is quite fast, that’s a full battery in two hours, and you might get 6 hours of good sun in a day (dependent on climate of course), so the battery can be sized larger for a given solar to lower its C-rate
You could consider a passive way of warming the batteries, like scavenging heat from the inverters/chargers conditionally (with the “heating required” output on the Expansion tied to a fan)
Definitely not a “no” but you might be able to beat us to an even better solution!
