Maximum SOC bei LFP?

Dear Betrium Team,

Would it be possible to incorporate a feature in a future version of Watchmon to limit the state of charge (SOC)? Specifically, I am suggesting a function that allows setting a maximum SOC (e.g., Max SOC = x), which would only be active when a digital input is switched.

The reason for this request is that maintaining high charge levels in LFP batteries over extended periods can be detrimental. My battery has a capacity of around 70 kWh, and during the summer, it rarely gets fully discharged. I believe this feature could also be helpful for many other users.

Thank you for considering this request!

Hi thedoctor9,

You can actually already do this with this switch, you can simply turn it on when you want, and turn it off when you don’t

I would advise against this though. You can only infer SoC on a cell up near the top of charge, so you can only balance up there, and your SoC will drift without recalibrating at the top (when balance is done)

Thank you for the information! I have already found the switch, and that’s why I’d like to connect it to a switch input. This way, I could automate a full charge once a week or as needed when the car’s battery is low. I’m using Loxone for home automation.
