I needed additional space for a larger lug on my Batrium Shunt. I added some washers between the block and the PCB. Any issues with this?
Yes, there will be issues and the current readings will be affected.
The reading will be linear by some adjustment, however, will continue operating. When coulomb counting, this will balance out for SoC% calculations.
If you are thinking of modifying this to work, please be advised that this existing product cannot be calibrated by a user as it has a 4-stage gain calibration. This makes this far too difficult to be recreated.
If you need to use large lugs and multiple cables, have them on a separate distribution busbar and then have them join to the Shunt.
