ATTENTION: Update for Victron Users [Upcoming Preview Release]

UPDATE: Please be advised that Victron have made updates on their products to allow the back-feeding of power onto the grid.

Our products have had great success in the Victron off-grid environment for years. But just more recently when people have been setting systems up to back-feed the grid, Victron has taken a different approach for lithium charging away from the typical approach of throttling down the charging rate when the battery gets close to full.

What we discovered a lot of people have set their configuration for charging till it’s beyond full, which has caused the system to send the message “Charge Off” to the inverter. We included a change in Build 2.17.39, to ensure that for Victron the charge/stop instruction would prevent the overcharging, however, we were told it would stop the charge and unaware it would forcibly discharge.

To work around the current issue, we will be pushing a PREVIEW release to restore the original Victron method. We are currently testing it internally and we’ll publish it in the coming days once we see favourable results.

We are pushing this preview release to ensure that 2.17.40 addresses the immediate issue.

The new Victron’s DVCC methodology to suit grid feed when the batteries are full will continue to be developed and released at a future date.

We thank you for your patience on this matter.
