Act ChgA is always 0

Is there a reason why there’s never a value in Act ChgA? Does that require communication to the inverter? It does have the Shunt current? (Ignore my horrible balance - fixing that)

HI Tweekzilla,

Yes, that is filled by the inverter sending back values over CAN, and most inverters do not do this, so unfortunately there’s not much that can be done if that value is blank.

Do you know where in the Can protocal that is sent?

An example of a charger that does this is Elcon, who transmits it back to us on payload 18FF50E5.

Which CAN profile and inverter/charger are you using?

The value is purely informational, so your system performance will not suffer at all if it is not filled.

You can also customise the menus to remove it as a readout and put something more relevant to your system in its place.

I’m using the native2 canbus message into nodered so I’d be able to send the right value back. Also I’d like to know if there’s a specfic response the native 2 requires

Hi Tweekzilla,

I can confirm that Native 2 will not behave differently depending on whether you send or don’t send that value. There is one expansion output option that fires when the received value is greater than zero, but it requires the Elcon/TC profile instead.
