I have a Watchmon4 for Longmon and Expansion
And suddenly a few days ago, all the cells changed to -40oC.
I checked all the longmon interconnection, all fine. fixed it a few time by checking connections and tightening them. But within 10 hours right back.
Long story short, found out that one of the pins that the yellow-blue wires from the final cellmon that connected to the small board that changed it to the extension to the CMU had corroded off, and was stuck in the connector..
Ah ha! Since to corroded off pin was stuck in the connector, the connector was no good. So I figured I would just by-pass the little board that goes from the longmod to the extension to CMU. I stripped the wires and directly connected them to the extension (putting them in the lock down to the pin).
Checked continuity from the longmon to the CMU on the BMS, all good.
No love, did not get it work. Still got a red lifght on the BMS. Thought for sure that was the problem, but apparenly not.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks
Hi Rick,
Are you able to attach a photo of the wiring bypass?
Corrosive environments sure are challenging to LongMons/BlockMons, we have found that our newer CellMate K9s do a lot better due to their larger connectors.
Thanks James. I am just going to go with the K9 CellMate. I always thought I needed to get a new BMS to use this.
Thanks again for the help.
