Building a single bank of 2 x 12v (4s) 280Ah lifepo4 prismatic cells, for total 12V 560Ah. Choosing not to do 2p4s for greater redundancy. I live on a boat.
So i need a core, ext., shuntmon and
1 OR 2 K9, docs are confusing…???

I believe you will only need one K9…
I have not used the K9’s - you may want to send an email to Batrium just to verify.
Actually you will need two K9’s. One for each pack. One K9 supports your temp and voltage sensors which allows you to monitor each block in your string. With two identical battery packs you need a K9 for each.
you definitely need two K9.
Probably the blockmons make more sense
Anyway, I don’t the redundancy here.
If there is an issue, the watchmon will cut off both packs at the same time.
